Activity | Description |
Field Day | Each spring students compete in various sporting events from the traditional to the challenging and funny. |
Field Trips | All grade levels take a variety of field trips throughout the year. Some of the places visited in the past are as follows: Monticello, Greensboro Science Center, Danville Science Museum, Virginia Museum of Natural History, Piedmont Arts, Greensboro Children's Museum, Owens Farm, and other local venues. |
4-H | 4th and 5th grade students participate. |
Student Government | The SGA is an organization of elected student representatives, working for the good of the student body and their community. Students learn leadership and social skills that they can apply in all environments. Through participation students become positive role models who support good character and good citizenship in their schools and communities. |
Red Ribbon Week | Red Ribbon Week is a week long celebration of being "Drug Free". This year Red Ribbon Week will be held from October 24th through October 28th. During this special week students learn the importance of staying drug free and making positive choices. They show their commitment to maintaining a drug-free school community by participating in week-long events and skill-building. |
Local Community Action | Every year at Mount Olivet Elementary our students participate in various community based donation and charity programs. In years past, our students and community has provided donations for the following organizations: -Salvation Army-Martinsville/Henry County SPCA-Pennies for Patients |
Book Fair | During December the library transforms into a place to purchase books to keep! |
